In most cases, residents do not need to set up utility accounts – like electric, water, etc.; they will be set up automatically by FirstKey Homes.
Utilities set up by FirstKey Homes are managed by YES Energy Management, who will email monthly statements to you between the 10th & 19th of each month. The charges from that statement will appear on your FirstKey Homes account on the 20th of every month. The first chargeback cycle usually appears six to eight weeks after move-in, following FirstKey Homes paying that bill. Please refer any requests for invoice copies associated with your statement, billing reviews/missing utility charges, or proof of residency to YES Customer Service at 833-363-7963 or yescs@yesenergymgmt.com.
Exceptions:
- Texas: Residents set up and manage electric service accounts (along with any other services from the same provider).
- North Carolina: Residents set up and manage all utility accounts. *Note: Some markets, specifically City of Lexington, may differ.
-
Nevada: Residents set up and manage all utility accounts except for trash service.
*** For Residents in Texas, North Carolina, or Nevada, you’ll need to provide proof of your utility account registered in your name prior to moving into the home or signing a renewal agreement.
There is a monthly convenience fee for utility management. (See https://www.firstkeyhomes.com/rental-fees for details.) This fee goes directly to the third-party management entity, YES Energy Management; no part of the fee goes to FirstKey Homes. This fee does not apply where the resident – not FirstKey Homes – manages ALL utilities for the home – such as North Carolina and Nevada, as detailed above.
These details may vary based on municipal/utility provider specific requirements. Residents using medical devices that require electric service should register their own electric accounts and make this known to the utility provider.
For trash service, typically residents are responsible for their own account; this may vary if trash service is managed by the city or water company. For trash inquiries, please contact YES Customer Service or see https://firstkey.connectservices.com for providers in your area. Nevada residents should contact Republic Services or the City of North Las Vegas.
