We know that pets are part of the family, too, so they're welcome at FirstKey Homes! Guidelines include:
- Unless FirstKey provides written approval, no more than three (3) pets are allowed in the home.
- Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable pet fee per pet and monthly pet rent per each pet in the home.
In Colorado, pet fee is a deposit, is per home (not per pet), and is refundable (similar to a security deposit), based on state law.

See further details on our Rental Fees page. - Unless deemed restricted by local city or county ordinance or HOA regulations, pets are allowed.

- Dangerous or venomous/poisonous animals are not permitted as a pet.
- Fish and small caged animals, such as hamsters, are allowed with no pet fee or pet rent. Fish tanks are limited to 20 gallons.
- FirstKey Homes accepts Service Animals, Emotional Support Animals, and Assistance Animals for residents with disabilities as defined by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Fair Housing Act (FHA). If you are a disabled individual, you need to provide supporting documentation if your disability is not readily apparent. The pet conditions above do not apply to applicants with disabilities meeting the requirements of the ADA, HUD, and FHA.
