All income and supplemental documentation provided will be validated by FirstKey Homes’ third-party vendor called Two Dots, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) data processing and service provider for income and ID verification. Please review our Privacy Policy for what data is collected and how it is used by reading our Privacy Policy at: https://www.firstkeyhomes.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Required Documents

  • Unexpired foreign passport (most common baseline ID)

  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD / Form I‑766)

Proof of Income

All applicants 18 years of age and older are required to upload documents verifying income. Applicants cannot email FirstKey Homes representatives income or financial documents, or other related Personally Identifiable Information, because email is not secure. Applicants must upload all required supporting application documents through FirstKey Homes’ third-party vendor portals such as Two Dots or RentCafe. The following categories of income can be used to support your application review and approval:

Pay Statements/Paystubs

Pay statements/paystubs are accepted documents to show proof of income. Applicants are required to upload PDF copies of Pay Statement/Paystub. The PDF copies must be directly generated by applicant’s employer and/or financial institution. Screenshots or PDFs generated from screenshots are not accepted. Ensure that required information is present, such as Year to Date (YTD) pay or YTD taxes. Paychecks are not acceptable without an associated pay statement or paystub. The required number of pay statements/paystubs is dependent on your pay cycle; please see below.

  • Pay Stub Requirements by Pay Frequency

    - Weekly: Provide your 4 most recent pay statements/paystubs

    - Bi-weekly (every 2 weeks): Provide your 2 most recent pay statements/paystubs

    - Semi-monthly (twice per month): Provide your 2 most recent pay statements/paystubs

    - Monthly pay: Provide your 2 most recent pay statements/paystubs

The most recent proof of income must be dated within the last 30 days of the date of application.

Bank Statements

Bank statements are accepted documents to show proof of income. Applicants are required to upload PDF copies of bank statements. The PDF copies must be directly generated by applicant’s financial institution. Screenshots or PDFs generated from screenshots are not accepted. Include all pages of the statement. Bank statements must be dated within 30 days of submission.

  • If using bank statements as proof of income:

    - 3 most current monthly bank statements

    - If the most recent bank statement is not within 30 days of submission, a banking transaction history will be necessary.

Bank Account

Linking your bank account through FirstKey Homes’ third-party data processing vendor called Two Dots eliminates manually uploading PDFs. Two Dots uses a service called Stripe.

Applicants who choose to verify income by linking a bank account do so through Two Dots, which uses Stripe, a third‑party financial technology provider, to facilitate secure bank connections.

When an applicant links a bank account, they are redirected to Stripe’s secure bank authentication environment. Bank login credentials are not visible to, stored by, or accessible to us or Two Dots.

Stripe maintains industry‑recognized security standards, including PCI DSS Level 1 certification and SOC 2 Type II audits, which are designed to protect sensitive financial data.

Bank account linking is optional. Applicants may instead choose to upload income documentation manually. Applicants control what data is shared and may revoke access at any time through their financial institution.

Child Support

Proof of child support can be accepted for proof of income. Bank statements and deposit history are required.

  • 3 most current months of bank statements showing deposits
  • If the most recent bank statement is not within 30 days of submission, a banking transaction history will be necessary. The PDF copies must be directly generated by applicant’s financial institution. Screenshots or PDFs generated from screenshots are not accepted.

Social Security Income (SSI), Pension, or Retirement Income

  • Award letter
  • 3 most current months of bank statements
  • If your most recent bank statement is more than 30 days old, we’ll need a recent bank transaction history to complete income verification.
  • Previous year’s IRS 1099 form

Military Pay, Leave and Earn Statements (LES), Disability Pay

  • Award Letter
  • 2 most current monthly LES statements if paid monthly or bi-weekly
