Rental Insurance Requirements

FirstKey Homes insures the house itself, but what about all of your belongings? That’s where rental insurance comes in. We require all residents to have a rental insurance policy in place to cover personal items within the home.

Residents are required to carry a minimum of $100,000 Property Loss and Personal Liability Insurance coverage. In addition, we ask that you identify FirstKey Homes as a “Party of Interest” or “Interested Party” (or similar language as may be available) on the renter’s liability insurance policy; see details for your state of residence below. Proof of this coverage is required at lease renewal and/or time of possession. Waterbeds will only be allowed with proof of fully paid insurance for the term of the lease.

FirstKey Homes, LLC or the appropriate designation listed below (based on your state of residence) must be named as a “Party of Interest” or “Interested Party” on the policy:

Arizona: FirstKey Homes of Arizona, LLC
Florida: FirstKey Homes of Florida, LLC
Georgia: FirstKey Homes of Georgia, LLC
Illinois: FirstKey Homes of Illinois, LLC
Indiana: FirstKey Homes of Indiana, LLC
Minnesota: FirstKey Homes of Minnesota, LLC
Missouri: FirstKey Homes of Missouri, LLC
Nevada: FirstKey Homes of Nevada, LLC
North Carolina: FirstKey Homes of North Carolina, LLC
Ohio: FirstKey Homes of Ohio, LLC
South Carolina: FirstKey Homes of South Carolina, LLC
Tennessee: FirstKey Homes of Tennessee, LLC
Texas: FirstKey Homes of Texas, LLC

The following address applies to all of the above:

P.O. Box 3708
Albany, NY 12203

If you do not provide proof of coverage, you’ll be charged a monthly non-compliance fee per your lease agreement. The fee is deemed as an additional rent cost and does not provide coverage.
