FirstKey Homes is proud to be a part of your rental home journey. We’re always here to help you take the next step, from finding the right home through move-in day and beyond. To better serve you and our family of residents, we’re upgrading our system from the evening of Jan. 7 through Jan. 14, 2021. During this time, some of our usual online services and leasing processes will be affected; in addition, we will be unable to accept applications beginning the night of Jan. 2 through Jan. 14. Please see details below. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we make these improvements that will allow us to better serve you.

Will I be able to search for homes on your website during the system upgrade?

Yes, you will be able to view our inventory and tour our homes during this time. When our system upgrade is complete (planned for Jan. 15), you’ll be able to continue the rental process, including submitting an application.

I’ve submitted an application and am waiting for approval. What do I need to know?

Our goal is to process all applications by 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 7. We plan to be in touch by phone with every applicant leading up to our system upgrade.

Can I submit an application for a home during the system upgrade?

We will be unable to accept applications for homes from 11:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 2,  through Thursday, Jan. 14, so please check back after Jan. 14 to continue your home rental process. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

I’ve been approved for a home, but I have not signed a lease yet. What should I do?

Unfortunately, we are unable to send leases during the system upgrade. As an approved applicant, you will be able to sign a lease once the system upgrade is complete (planned for the morning of Jan. 15).

I’ve signed a lease and need to pay the required fees. How can I pay the security deposit, any applicable prorated rent, and other fees?

***If you’re scheduled to move in between Jan. 7 and Jan. 15, please contact your local FirstKey Homes office to arrange for payment. Mailing payments to the below address could result in a delayed move-in.

To make a payment between Jan. 7 and Jan. 15 for a move-in scheduled for after Jan. 15, please send certified funds (cashier’s check or money order) to:

(Note that rent payment and security deposit/other fees must be paid by two separate cashier’s checks or money orders; one for rent, one for deposit/fees.)
